Here’s How Much Valve Pays for CS2 Major Stickers

Qualifying for a Counter-Strike Major is a dream for most players. But it’s not just about competing with the best of the best — it’s also a chance to seriously boost your bank account. Today, the CS.MONEY Blog breaks down how much esports players actually earn from stickers.

Stickers are a great way to personalize your skins, and eye-catching crafts help you show off your style. While we can’t design your crafts for you, we’ve got all the materials at the best prices.

Let’s be clear from the start: no one will give you exact numbers, because that’s confidential info that Valve keeps under tight wraps. Still, in interviews, podcasts, and videos, players and org staff often drop ballpark figures.

A player’s earnings from stickers depend on two major factors:

  1. Sticker/Capsule Sales Performance

The more a capsule sells, the more money all participating players and teams make. Valve splits 50% of the revenue from each capsule evenly among its participants. The Paris Major was especially successful — but even before that, the CEO of Natus Vincere stated that the club made a seven-figure sum from the 2020 RMR stickers.

  1. Contract with the Team

Valve pays out money for both individual player autograph stickers and team logo stickers. These days, players usually receive the full income from their autographs, and a smaller cut from team stickers. For example, STYKO revealed that while playing for Apeks, he received 4.28% of the income from team stickers. The actual number can vary depending on each player’s contract with the organization.

Not too long ago, roeJ shared on a podcast that across four Majors he played, he earned between $600,000 and $900,000 USD. He competed at the Paris and Stockholm Majors — both of which had particularly high sticker sales.

STYKO also gave a revealing number: in 2024, he made about $84,000 from various activities. It’s safe to assume that most of this came from sticker sales, even though he only played at one Major — Copenhagen. As mentioned earlier, he received a small percentage from team sticker sales, but didn’t disclose how much of the rest he kept.

In late 2023, Jerry mentioned that a player could expect to earn $300,000–400,000 from stickers. Though this was likely skewed by the Paris Major, which reportedly generated two to three times more revenue than a typical Major. Still, his estimate lines up well with other players’ statements.

Based on all available info, it’s safe to estimate that stickers from a single Major can earn a player anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000. That number can be higher or lower depending on a bunch of variables — but either way, it’s a much bigger payout than what most teams get from prize money alone.

That’s exactly why so many players celebrate simply qualifying for a Major. Once the tournament starts, they can go all-in — because the real money is already in the bag.
