Austin Major Sticker Capsules and Warhammer 40K Arrive in CS2

Last night, Valve surprised us with a major sticker update! Yes, the Major is just around the corner, and today the CS.MONEY Blog is here to cover everything new in CS2!

A gritty Texas Major — no glitter, but with foil

Valve and BLAST put a lot of thought into the sticker designs. All four sticker tiers differ stylistically. Paper stickers look like an old “Wanted: Dead or Alive” poster, holo stickers feature a fresh new pattern with lots of blank space, while gold and foil stickers resemble a belt buckle.

Yes, we said foil — not glitter. Foil stickers are back in Texas, and they look awesome. Glitter stickers have taken a break — maybe because of all the fake crafts going around?

Another key point: these stickers scrape really well. You can erase the entire sticker background, leaving only the team logo almost untouched.

Amazing team stickers, terrible autographs

Team stickers look amazing — unfortunately, the same can’t be said for player autographs. The issue isn’t with bland signatures — it’s that they’re unreadable. Some autographs look awful, and not just in paper form. Here’s flameZ apologizing for how his own sticker looks.

Let’s hope Valve tweaks things a bit: tone down the logos, boost the brightness of the signatures — because the way things are now, this could turn into a disaster.

Viewer Pass: Same system, but with an extra stage

As always, Valve launched the Viewer Pass alongside the sticker update. For $10, you can spam your favorite team’s graffiti — but more importantly, you get a shot at a Diamond Coin and several souvenir cases.

With more tournament stages, the risk of failing Pick’Ems goes up. Luckily, the Pick’Em format itself is more or less unchanged. In the Swiss stage, you need to pick five correct teams out of ten (eight that will advance, plus two that will go 0–3), and before playoffs you’ll need to predict the full bracket and pick the eventual champion.

Rumor has it this time souvenir skins will come with charms, but we’ll only know for sure once the first containers are opened.

Valve rarely does collaborations between Counter-Strike and other franchises. However, four new Warhammer 40,000 sticker capsules have been added to the game. These stickers will appeal to fans of the series and to players who love creative crafts — we’re sure there’s some really cool stuff that can be made using them.
